What we are
Asilia Energy is a Tanzanian-led firm that combines deep local knowledge of the country's oil, gas, and power sector with two decades of hands-on international experience. We are a hybrid — both a consultancy and a principal investor — meaning we don't just advise on opportunities, we put our balance sheet behind the ones we believe in.
What we do
We work across four areas: strategic advisory for international and local players; structuring partnerships between them; supplying goods and services into the value chain; and committing our own capital as a principal investor alongside the partners we work with.
Why partners come to us
International partners — IOCs, private equity, regional operators — need a counterparty in Tanzania they can verify. Our team has run the largest projects in the country's modern energy history (the $1.3B Mtwara pipeline, the 875MW Kinyerezi power complex, Tanzania's LNG project formation) from the inside, at TPDC, the President's Delivery Bureau, Shell, and BG Group.
How we work
Small by design. Senior practitioners only. We hold ourselves to the same standards — ethics, compliance, safety, transparency — that our international counterparts already operate under, and the relationships that earn us a seat at the table on the Tanzanian side are the ones we've built over careers, not transactions.
